Just tonight, I was getting lost driving through Indiana corn country & Madonna came on Sirius; & I’m kinda’ starting to sing but then shaking my head. Son: “Mom, what’s wrong?” Me: “I’ve just never liked Madonna. Ever; & there’s such a better version to this, so… this isn’t doing it for me.” I told him to pull this up & his eyes lit up & he lost it at 1:50 (like bad karaoke & it’s beating out the diva to some raw riffs & all that jazz). Means a lot. He’s autistic & depressed & doesn’t smile, nor laugh very much. Something clicked, tonight. I handed over the vinyl when we got home. “It’s yours, now. Have fun, precious.”
